Timaya is probably the most consistently good musician in Nigeria over the past decade, and there’s a reason he’s been in the game for a long time. At any point in time, he might not be the biggest star, but he’s always up there with the big leagues, and has top 10 singles every year that spin in heavy rotation.
Timaya is known as the “Egberi papa one” of Bayelsa and is really proud of his roots. He started his music hustle from the streets of Port Harcourt before moving over to the Lagos market where he rose to prominence in the entertainment scene.
Majority of the tracks in his debut albums were a reflection of his past life and the struggles he went through as young teenager to survive in Port Harcourt and the crisis in his home town, Odi in Bayelsa State.
